Shakespeare Zone
REGISTRATION NOW OPEN FOR 2010!
Welcome
to The Shakespeare Zone, bringing
the joy of theatre to Toronto's youth since 2001!
We are offering two exciting camps in summer 2010: THE SHAKESPEARE
ZONE, featuring a new adaptation of one of Shakespeare's The
Taming Of The Shrew; and THE
BROADWAY ZONE, our fun-filled musical theatre camp.
At the Shakespeare Zone, students will join us on a two-week journey to Shakespeare's magical world, as we explore, rehearse and present a fully-mounted production. Every student will play a role in the final production on stage at the Bad Dog Theatre, at Broadview and Danforth.
Each day, divided into three age groups, students will study acting, improv,
dance, and Shakespeare at an age-appropriate level. Daily rehearsals will
bring all groups together. Regular outings to the local parks ensure a well-rounded
camp experience and the chance to fully enjoy summer.
In all classes, rehearsals and outside activities, we practice our camp philosophy: R*I*S*K, which stands for: Respect, Integrity, Support and Kindness. This a a place where there are no outsiders; an artistic community where everyone "belongs."
