Camp Policies
Safety and Security
The safety of your kids is our priority. Our instructors are caring, mature and responsible and our class sizes are kept small in order to facilitate this (our maximum class-time staff-student ratio is 11:1)
In addition, we require that your child purchase at least one camp t-shirt to be worn each day. These allow our campers to be easily identifiable as a group during outings. The t-shirts may also be used as a costume piece during our final presentation. The shirts cost $12 and can be ordered in advance on your registration form.
Students must be signed in and out by an adult when arriving and leaving camp. Your pre-camp information kit will include a form on which you may specify who will be picking up your child, or if your older child is permitted to sign themselves in and out.
Zero Tolerance Policy
The Upper Canada Repertory Company has a zero tolerance policy with regards to violent or aggressive behavior. Our camp is a place for young people to feel safe and free. Any student who jeopardizes that environment will be removed from the program. It is important that parents discuss this with their children before sending them to camp. It is also important that both parents and students fully understand what this means. If an intructor observes or sees evidence to the effect that a student has willingly harmed another student in any way, they will be asked to leave the camp.More detail will be provided in your pre-camp information package, along with a "Zero Tolerance Contract" to be signed by both student and parent. We take this policy very seriously, and have acted on it in the past. Please do not register your child for this program if they have a history of violence or extremely disruptive behavior.
