Rochelle Douris

(DIRECTOR, A MIDSUMMER NIGHT'S DREAM, BLANCHE, A STREETCAR NAMED DESIRE)
Rochelle is the founder and Artistic Director of The Upper Canada Repertory Co. She has acted, written and directed professionally in Canada and the U.S. for the past twenty years. Recent roles include Glory in Glory’s Grace, Blanche in UCRC’s 2008 production of A Streetcar Named Desire,  Pandarus in Troilus and Cressida, and The Vagina Monologues (V-Day 2006). Other performances include The Rocky Horror Show and Just So Stories at the Hippodrome State Theatre, FL.  In 2006 she directed Escape Productions’ Grease (Bluma Appel), and UCRC’s Macbeth:Reloaded ,and Troilus & Cressida:Redux (Berkeley Street). She has a Master of Fine Arts degree in Acting from the University of Florida and is senior acting instructor for the Upper Canada Junior Repertory Company.

David Matheson

(DIRECTOR, A STREETCAR NAMED DESIRE)
Founder of Wordsmyth Theatre, David has acted, taught and directed in Toronto and the Maritimes for twenty years. His 2006 adaptation of Julius Caesar was critically lauded and followed by an equally successful production of Chekhov’s The Seagull in 2007.  David’s training includes a BA from Acadia University, and MFA in Directing from York, and performance training at the London Academy of Music and Dramatic Arts in England. His acting work has included performances with the Neptune Theatre, Theatre New Brunswick, and the Atlantic Theatre Festival, as well as a recent Summerworks performance in Robert Fothergill’s Disciples, directed by Mark Wilson.

Zoe Sweet

(TITANIA, A MIDSUMMER NIGHT'S DREAM, STELLA, A STREETCAR NAMED DESIRE)
Zoe performed the role of Stella in UCRC’s 2008 production of A Streetcar Named Desire.  She also  played Lady Macbeth in UCRC’s production of Macbeth:Reloaded. In 2006, sheplayed Rizzo in Escape Productions’ Grease at the Bluma Appel. She has given many critically acclaimed performances in Toronto, including the Young Wife in Hello Again, Cressida in Troilus and Cressida (Upper Canada Repertory Company); Miss Goldberg, In Trousers; Jane Eyre in Jane Eyre ; Iphigenia, Iphigenia in Tauris (Afflux Productions); Rose Ouimet, Les Belles-Soeurs ;The Hunger Artist in Dark Circus ; Josie Pie in Anne of Green Gables, and Nana for Ante-M Theatre, which received the Acclaim award for Best Ensemble Cast. She has also work-shopped new plays with Nightwood Theatre’s new works festival Write From the Hip as part of the Groundswell Festival and Hot Dog with Scriptlab.

Michael Bradley

(STANLEY, A STREETCAR NAMED DESIRE)
performed the role of Stanley in UCRC’s 2008 production of A Streetcar Named Desire. Past performing credits include Puck in A Midsummer Night's Dream (UK), Danny in Grease, Agamemnon in Troilus and Cressida, as well as roles in Preface Theatre’s collaborative project The Lost Villages Project, Much Ado About Nothing and Discovering Romeo for Resurgence Theatre, and Julius Caesar for Alchemy Theatre. Michael has been seen on Lifetime’s The Two Mrs. Kissels, CBC’s The Robber Bride, and UPN’s Kevin Hill. He was also performed as a featured singer in a London West-End musical revue showcasing the songs of Stephen Sondheim. Co-Artistic Director of Preface Theatre, Michael’s directing credits include the Canadian premiere adaptation of James Reaney’s The Box Social,  Spaces and the Tree for the 2006 Summerworks festival, as well as co-directing A Midsummer Night’s Dream for Shakespeare in the Square in London, UK. He is a graduate of the Theatre and Drama Studies program at the University of Toronto, a joint program with Sheridan College.  

Marlene Matos-Jones

(EUNICE, A STREETCAR NAMED DESIRE)
Marlene Matos-Jones was last seen as Eunice in our original 2008 production of A Streetcar Named Desire.  Previously, she play Duncan in our 2007 production,  Macbeth: Reloaded, at the Berkeley Street Theatre. She also played Jan in Grease (Escape Productions) at the Bluma Appel Theatre, (2006). A graduate of the University of Windsor’s Bachelor of Fine Arts in Acting program, she has also be seen as Celia in As You Like It and Gentlewoman in Macbeth. Other stage credits include The Paisley Sister’s Christmas Special (Stellar Productions), Nuncrackers (The Capitol Theatre, Windsor, ON) and West Side Story (The Grand Theatre).

Ann Weir

(STAGE MANAGER, A MIDSUMMER NIGHT'S DREAM, A STREETCAR NAMED DESIRE)
Ann Weir has been with the company since our very first Shakespeare Zone. During the school year, Ann teaches for the TDSB, and moonlights with our weekend classes, teaching acting, improvisation, theatre history. During the summer, she is Camp Director for the Shakespeare Zone and the Broadway Zone, overseeing all full and part-time staff. Ann is also an accomplished athlete and coach, and has been the driving force behind our camps' outdoor sport and fitness components. Ann has stage managed every main stage UCRC show from 2001 to 2006. This year she will be back in charge for our Summer Repertory Season at Walmer Theatre.

Sarra Al-Nowaiser

Sarra Al-Nowaiser is a fairly recent addition to the Upper Canada Repertory Company. She has been training in various forms of dance, including jazz, tap, ballet, modern, lyrical, and musical theatre for 14 years, and enjoys passing on her knowledge as dance teacher and choreographer for the company. She also served as Stage Manager for Upper Canada Repertory’s spring and summer versions of Midsummer Night’s Dream, as well as A Streetcar Named Desire. She truly loves being a part of the company and looks forward to many more seasons with the staff and students!

Corey Payette

(MUSICAL DIRECTOR, A MIDSUMMER NIGHT'S DREAM)
Corey Payette has been a featured songwriter on many charity CD compilations. His debut solo CD "Broken Vow" was released in 2004. Since attending York University on scholarship, Corey has been actively composition for film, chamber, and musical theatre projects. He has written the film score to The Great Fear by 24 Film Productions and has had his string works performed in York Showcase Concerts. With certificates in honors in piano, voice, and music theory from the Royal Conservatory of Music; Corey is an active private teacher. He teaches piano and voice at the York Region Conservatory of Music in Richmond Hill. Acting Credits include: Teen Angel- Grease, Harry Houdini-Ragtime: The Musical, and Freddy- My Fair Lady. Veronica Scorrano

(COSTUME DESIGNER, A MIDSUMMER NIGHT'S DREAM, A STREETCAR NAMED DESIRE)
Originally from the NY area, 18 years in Fashion Industry as an executive for companies like Limited Inc, Puma, Macy's and Perry Ellis. Now settled and running a home business from a beach on Georgian bay. Enjoys time with her husband and daughter, movies, cooking, travel , nice wine ,all music and time with friends. Her designs have included Macbeth:Reloaded and Grease.
